This is an example of a test post for members. The idea of a news post is to inform your users of happenings around the club.
The same styling of content should apply to posts as it does for pages. Make sure to keep the paragraphs to 3-5 sentences and don’t make those sentences too lengthy!
Writing Posts
A good practice to use is the “inverted pyramid” – keep the important news to the top as some users may quickly skim the first few paragraphs to find out the general purpose of the post and then navigate elsewhere.
Use descriptive titles and summaries to make the content easier to read and grab attention. A longer news post will be easier to read if there are titles used to breaking down the sections in an organised manner.
Images help!
Adding images and galleries to spruce up the story is a great way to create more user engagement. These are added in the same method as the images and galleries that appear on the website pages. If your club has recently run a tournament, adding a gallery of images from the day is a nice touch for the members to browser through.
